Here is the first animation made with Cycles (at least for me). Actually the new rendering engine does not yet support animation so I had to save one frame at a time.
Rendering times are about 19 sec to frame with 100 passes ( blender cycles+ cuda ver.) About this I noticed something. when rendering a image ( F12) is better if you turn off the preview in 3d window. I know it sounds obvious but I’ve noticed just now. rendering times cut in half this way.
here the same animation passed through greycstoration filter (already used by luxrender) to eliminate the residual noise (is better right?)
the scene is lit only by texure on the plane. about this when using a texture to have proper lighting (including the bounce of the light) is necessary to divide properly the emit object. Here is a comparison between the frame 7 of the animation (in this I used a subdivided plane)
and the same frame in which I used a plane with a single face.
It is easily notice the light is not concentrated near the small white spot and the color of light is affected by the red line at the top not visible yet.now excuse me but I’m going to buy a mooooore powerful video card to take advantage of this wonder
. Thanks Brecht
