Start the surprises related to “The Serial”
For color grading of “The Serial”, it was thought a look typical of Italian B-movies of the 70s.
So I created this node rig in blender that trasform a video from

to

Now, with joy, i can release the “filter” in CC, so you can make videos of your vacation in a true 70′s movie. The rig node has been updated to version 2.5 beta of Blender that has a color corrector significantly better than the previous.

In the example the effects are all used together and this creates some confusion, of course be used with more caution. With little variations can be used for effects like very old film.
the effects used here:
Yellow shift (polaroid)
scratches and streaks caused by projections
delaminations of the film
grana and dust
scotch tape, hair and other dirt
flashing
random variations of color
oxidation film
defocus
misalignment of the film
glow lamp
lost frames
distortions

some explanation
The file includes the animations used to add scratches and dirt.
In some nodes will need to retrieve the link with these animations
Flashlight_light.avi file is also used to generate randomness for some effects.
The flow is from top to bottom, so, connecting a viever, will be able to understand what effect generates that particular node.
Attention: To make a file for download have been include a lightweight, compressed and short version of the animations. This naturally generates repetitions unrealistic also in some cases (dust, thin scratches) the compression has compromised the details .
